DAG JOHAN HAUGERUD
SEX
A frequently funny and unpredictable sweeping success at Berlinale, SEX opens up much-needed male conversations on modern relationships
Two middle-aged chimney sweepers in picture-perfect, monogamous straight marriages open up to each other: One just slid down a client’s chimney and into a dilemma over his sexuality; the other dreamt David Bowie gazed at him like he’s a woman, waking up with a changed voice and self-identity. The first, standalone film in director Dag Johan Haugerud’s Oslo Trilogy (SEX, LOVE, DREAMS) is for anyone who’s desired more in life.

After winning Scandinavian awards for his first four features, Dag Johan Haugerud broke out internationally with his Oslo Trilogy: Sex (Berlinale 2024); Love (Golden Lion nominee, Venice Film Festival 2025); and Dreams, winner of the Berlinale 2025 Golden Bear.
A former librarian, journalist, and dramatist, Haugerud is also a novelist.
